Nine months ago, we were asked by a partner NGO that works with unaccompanied child refugees to enroll Peter, a 10-year-old Rohingya Muslim who wanted to study, in our school program and hostel. After helping him to enroll in the school but before entering the hostel, his case manager shared, “By the way, Peter is epileptic. But no worries, we are responsible for his medical follow-ups, as well as for his school and hostel expenses. He just needs to take his medicine in the morning and at night.”
In the hostel, we have 15 students. Of the fifteen, most of them are Rohingya. On Sundays, we pray for each other. One Sunday, we asked God for Peter’s healing.
We believe that Jehovah Rapha (the Lord who heals) has touched him. He has never had an epileptic episode while with us, and he is very active in PE class- playing football, badminton and volleyball. In academics, Peter is the fastest learner in the group.
We praise God as healer as we see healing taking place. We praise God for the opportunity to have students experience transformation in our platforms, where we can live and share the Gospel in a friendly manner. Peter enjoys being in the school hostel better than in the madrasa. Now, he hasn’t taken epileptic medicine consistently since he arrived. We all believe that he is healed.
Join me in prayer:
- Pray for Peter and the other students to glorify God for Peter’s healing and to seek Him with their whole hearts.
- Pray for the children at the school and hostel to believe the gospel.
- Pray for those serving at the school to have many doors to love, disciple, and proclaim Christ to these children in word and deed.
