It has been nearly 5 years now since a certain ministry initiated daily broadcasts in the Rohingya language. From high-gain antennas and transmitters located in Outback Australia, the radio programs take to the air, landing in Southeast Asia with a message of hope and encouragement.
Where workers in the flesh cannot easily go, internet connectivity is still scarce or tightly controlled, and local Christian broadcasts are prohibited, the transmissions from Australia, which use shortwave frequencies, have been offering an alternative solution for the Word to be proclaimed. This organization remains the only international Christian broadcaster in the world to air programs in Rohingya. For them, it is a great responsibility and a great honor to play a part in this ministry. After all, there are no barriers to the Gospel.
Recently, this organization secured a new pack of programs covering Bible stories, family topics, health, and trauma counseling. Eventually, their engagement team desires to connect with broadcast listeners in Southeast Asia on the ground. While the situation in the region has prevented that for the moment, they keep praying for a breakthrough. In the meantime, they keep sending the message out, fulfilling the mandate to ‘preach up to the ear’. We know that the Holy Spirit, the one who convinces, will make the link between the ears and the hearts of Rohingya listeners.
