A certain church in North America carries the Rohingya close to their hearts – praying for them, supporting those serving them, and doing work abroad to bless them. When asked to share ways to pray for the Rohingya, one member shared:
“Thinking of the Rohingya families we’ve served, whether in small apartments in the U.S., in South Asia, or hidden corners of Southeast Asia, everywhere they go, their story is the same: Oppressed by their neighbors, unwanted by their own nation, and never truly embraced anywhere they flee.
“They live in places that are temporary, surrounded by people who tolerate them but rarely welcome them. With no true home, their trauma follows them, often creating a cycle that produces even more pain.
“Yet even in their suffering, we can see glimpses of hope, moments of kindness, quiet resilience, and the possibility of healing that only Jesus can bring.”
Here are some ways they shared we can pray for the Rohingya:
- “Lord Jesus, bring the Rohingya true hope in You. Break the cycles of trauma. Heal their hearts and restore their dignity. Show them that in Your Kingdom, they belong.
- “Stir Your church, Lord. Help believers come alongside them with patience and love. Remind us of Your Word: ‘And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.’ (Galatians 6:9, ESV) Give us strength to keep showing up, to keep loving, to keep doing good—even when it’s hard.
- “May the Rohingya find in Christ the home they have never known on earth.”
